This was already posted on DailySquee a while ago, but it’s getting so many votes (likely from our new audience) I’m posting it again: It’s certainly still adorable.

And has an amazing story. The baby deer was delivered via C-section from the mother who had been hit by a car! ADORABLE!
Yes, but unfortunately the adorable little guy passed away a day or so after these pictures were taken. I wish you would stop posting them and reminding me of how sad I was when I heard on the day he died.
We are very sorry for the loss Miriam. We will take this into consideration in the future and will not repost it again.
We offer our condolences and appreciate the very adorable photo that was provided. We know all good intent was behind the photo.
Everytime you show this picture it makes me sad. The story of this little deer is sad.

Thanks for mentioning this. I think many times vets/animal rescues go much too far in trying to save an animal’s life, when they could be using that money to save many other animals, who can then be rehabilitated and released if a wild animal, or adopted if domestic. That should be the goal–not playing heroics.
There is a point to the heroics. Trying new ways of saving the lives of non-endangered animals lets you discover new ways of saving the lives of endangered animals as well. (and new facts about medicine for humans too)
But it’s worth it IMO because so many people have found a little bit of joy out of this picture<3
Ignore the haters folks, it may be sad if it passed away, but the little dude got to have a little taste of precious Earth life, and every moment counts…The guy that rescued him did the best he could!
And, oh wait- it’s coming back to me now, I saw on Animal Planet that this lil’ guy made it to an animal sanctuary, where he was expected to make it…maybe a different story of a doe on the side of the road in Cali?…
Nevertheless, who is anybody to judge someone for trying to save a life? Judgement’s the only sad thing here.
Enjoy the love and cuteness! The babe made it, even if for a short time!
Peace
Oooh he’s a baby muntjac, I was wondering why he looked a little different. Poor little guy.
awe………………. sadness acompanies the cuteness………..
Is that what he was? I knew he wasn’t a regular deer, but I thought maybe a dik dik…Cute either way, and a precious picture!
