Oh my gosh! Personally, I’ve always sort of put bunnies on the “not that great” tier of pets. But then I see videos of them and they’re so cute! My favorite part is 47 seconds in when he starts scratching behind his ear with his hind leg but then his front legs slip forward against the slick hardwood floor and he has to stop scratching to correct his balance :3 So cute!

Bunnies gone wild! rofl I love that he’s so rowdy and it’s especially adorkable when he randomly spazzs out and bounces straight in the air!
Bunnies are wildly entertaining.
Mine has violent moments, where he decides a random throwable object offends him, and he tosses it around and chases it and chews on it and hits it like it just flipped him the bird.
He also binkies around like his tail is on fire, and scares the snot out of the dog.
And have you ever seen one do a bunnyflop? Outstanding!
OMG, he’s so adorable!! Little floppy ears! Rabbits are the best pets – I’ve had them for years. <3 He must be really happy to be binkying everywhere!
The spazzing is called “binkies” and all the rabbits I’ve met do them. I think of them as bunny dancing. Buns can be hilarious company. Mine was “helping” me while I cleaned out her litter box last night…..and yes they can be litter trained.
I used to have two little bunnies and they always did the crazy hops, but I had no clue what they were called or that the had a name, lol. That’s nice to know.
I miss my little bunnies. : (
We had house rabbits, they make great pets.
We also let them have run of the garden, our French lop used to scare off cats and once fought off a rat.
One of my bunnies, my 8 month old girl, spends half the time she’s not shut in her hutch doing those crazy hops. My 4yr old male bunny does occationally too, but not very often. Watching my girl though, never gets boring!!! Both of them come investigate when their hutches are being cleaned out and tend to end up covered in sawdust for their trouble, not that it bothers them at all. So cute!
Does anyone know what that music is?
If memory serves its “You’re so Cool” by Hans Zimmer done for ‘True Romance’
Thank you, hollyboop.
Hollyboop might well be right, but the tune reminded me of the Scottish song “Bonnie Dundee.” I was thinking maybe it was “Bunny Dundee.”
Those wiggly hops in the air and the sudden bursts of crazy jumps and flops indicate great, great happiness and excitement. It means the bunny is VERY happy. My house rabbit didn’t do it nearly as much as my hutch rabbit did, I think because being able to roam around unhindered was so much more exciting.
AWWW! lol get a carpet for the poor thing hes prolly scared! but soooo adorable!
so precious!
Yeah, my buns do exactly the same. Running around like crazy, chasing their own tails, throwing random stuff everywhere, jumping on and off my laps and making pretty cut-outs of EVERYTHING they can find
my bunny binkies all the time, but she wont go on the floor in the rooms with no carpet. she doesnt know how cute she is when she slips and slides.
Ha! That’s too cute!! I need a bunny
*dies from squee overload*
What kind of bunny is it?
I would guess a Mini Lop, or perhaps a Holland Lop. (He looks more like a Mini but I’ve known a lot of non-show quality Hollands with that long body and long ears.)
And I would guess his color to be a broken fawn or a very light broken tort.
i’ve always found bunnies to be sort of moody and stinky as pets, but they are adorable.
Let me guess – not speutered?
Intact buns (male and female) are moody, territorial, and stinky. That largely subsides with spaying or neutering, plus it’s better for their health. Some studies show an 85% chance of reproductive cancers in unspayed female buns by the age of four!
My rabbits are both “intact” and they’re neither moody, not territorial, nor stinky. They’ve got some temper, I admit, but more on the playful and assertive side
This little dude is so cute! I’ve never had mine attempt a play jump like that on the hardwood; they all have no trouble on the slippery floors (well, my ten-year-old doe runs so fast she wipes out sometimes) but they never get quite as playful there as on the carpet….
And as I was watching this my oldest buck started trying to lick and chew the label off the shredder! Bad advertising for bunnies as pets, little man. (Not to worry; I’ve relocated him to under his favorite chair and he’s happily scratching his ears and grooming.)
(Also, re: the above comment about rabbits being “stinky”–a properly cared for, healthy rabbit should not have a strong smell. I sleep in a room with four rabbits and it’d only smell if I left their cages/litter boxes too long or didn’t allow for proper airflow. Though I suppose a young unneutered buck might still have a bit of musky odor or create a smell by spraying.)
Rabbits are fabulous pets! They aren’t like cats or dogs; they aren’t predators, so they think different and approach their environment differently.
However, they are incredibly curious, frequently stubborn, surprisingly opinionated, and very affectionate. I’d have another rabbit in a heartbeat.
There are often rabbit rescues at shelters, which generally peak right after Easter. They are not good pets for small children, they will not tolerate the kind of toddler man-handling many dogs and cats will put up with. Rabbits can be pretty assertive, and downright aggressive if they feel threatened.
OMG what ‘lil SPAZ!! I love it!
Isn’t the floor a bit too slippery for the bunny? I’ve heard that it might cause them to hurt or even break their spines while frolicking like that on a slippery surface. My two little devils have a carpet in their room so they can run and hop to their hearts’ content
