    Heavens!………A dogkitty……………

  2. anne says:

OMG that’s the cutest thing I’ve seen all week! I want that kitten!

  3. eric says:

I’ve known two cats who did this – also with little wads of paper. They both grew out of it though. :(

  4. Seraph says:

I have a cat that plays fetch. He will actually bug you to play fetch with him. It is one of the most adorable things ever!

  5. Amy says:

The kitten looks like a Bengal, which are famous for being dog-like (they can even be leash-trained and actually enjoy walks!).

i have a 2 year old kitten that plays fetch like nothing else. she actually brings me toys to throw in to the kitchen or down stairs. she’ll chase it, play with it for a minute then bring it back to me to throw again. she’ll play for hours sometimes!

  7. leendadll says:

My former cat played fetch like a dog. If I didn’t throw the toy fast enough, he’d bat it around between my feet to remind me. At night, he’d play in the tub – batting a toy up the back wall so it would return to him.

He also, once, alerted me to a peeping tom. He was a great dog-kitty!!

  8. katamari's mom says:

My kitten plays fetch too! She started doing it (we didn’t teach her to) shortly after we brought her home…her favorite fetch toy is a scarf–it’s 3′ long!

  9. Vulpis says:

Ah. This kitty has it’s human well-trained to throw things for it. Now it just needs to train them on retrieval, and their human will able to keep themselves entertained for hours! ;-)

  10. Carolyn says:

Our kitty plays fetch like that! We call him CatDog ^.^

  11. Betty says:

My first three cats all fetched. They love the game. They teach YOU that you can play it with them. They also teach you “Ambush”.

  12. lyndabynda says:

my cat does this as well! and betty is right, i didn’t teach him, he taught me when he just started bringing his mousie back after i threw it

  13. Kendra says:

“Fetching” behavior is more common in adolescent kitties than in adult cats. Some full-grown cats retain the behavior, but for the most part they seem to sort of get it out of their system.

  14. Jessica says:

My cat has done this since we got her and continues to do it. She loves it.

  15. jaybee says:

Kendra, my 14-year-old Tabby still loves to play this game. The other two cats like to watch. Their heads go back and forth as if they were watching a tennis match.

  16. Purrzah says:

My cousin once had a cat who we trained to play fetch. It started with cigarette wrappers from an ex-roommate. Then it moved up to the plastic rings from milk jugs. In the end his favorite were the plastic mesh balls with bells in them. We’d throw them down the hall and he’d rip down after them at light speed.

  17. Cynthia says:

My Ocicat/Aby Sami fetches. He taught me!

  18. Kristen says:

    Is this a Bengal Kitty?

  19. Jodi says:

I used to have a cat that looooved to fetch soda bottle caps. She could play fetch for hours. She had a stash of them hidden under the couch. SO, if *I* got tired and tried to hide the bottle cap, she’d just go find another one and bring it to me.

  20. jenni says:

My cats both do this. but they fetch bottle caps. Like the little 20oz bottle ones. OMG. and when you bring a bottle in the house she “eyes” it. like okay thats for me right.. canihazitnau.. lol

  21. Susie says:

It’s a Bengal!!! Of course it fetches! All Bengals do! My 2 Bengals each like different things to fetch…. one likes crumpled up post-it notes, the other one likes rubber bands…. they will return their ‘prey’ right into my hand.

  22. Boris says:

ShameShameShameShameShame: a cat should have more dignity then acting like a … dog!!!

  23. Lauren says:

My kitty used to play fetch until he decided he was too good to bring stuff back lol… now he only does it when he *feels* like it

  24. valw says:

Abys are good fetchers, too. They seem to like mice made from sticking plasters, if my friend’s have been anything to go by.

  25. Fleurette says:

I’ve never had a cat that didn’t play fetch. It’s not that rare. They just like to play. Almost any kitten or young cat will do it with a little practice.

  26. Fez says:

I forgot to put my name in when submitting this, but this is my kitten Stark- he’s not a bengal, but a common tabby rescue. I do keep finding crumpled up receipts where he drops them on my bed in the morning for a game of fetch- he hasn’t quite learnt to give it back right into my hand, but he is learning!

    • SharonCville says:

You say Stark is a rescue kitty, but he may still be a Bengal. He really looks like one! Read up on them and see what you think– not that it really matters. He’s clearly adorable one way or the other! However, if he is a Bengal (or part Bengal) it may explain some of his behavior down the road. My first Bengal played fetch for hours at a time– he never really outgrew it!

  27. Kitty says:

OMG! I want a Bengal!! They’re gorgeous and look like so much fun to play with! This one looks adorable in that collar too. I love the bengal markings.

  28. WakaWaka says:

my Tiger does this with paper balls. He’s also blind which makes this all the more awesome :D He wasn’t trained or anything! He just did it :P

  29. Amy says:

My cat will do this for 20 minutes. Fetching things thrown into the next room even. She’s only 12 weeks old.

  30. ajay says:

That is is great to see again! I had a cat that used to do that, if you actually threw a piece of paper into a small wastebasket she would dive in head first to get it and bring it back again and again. <3
