Actually, most Coati’s do have a mask…I owned one for 5 years, named Coati. (creative, I know.) Anyway, what sets them apart from American raccoons is their nose and tail. Coati’s have a very soft, snout-like nose, made for digging grubs and other bugs, which makes up most of their diet. They have extremely long, striped tails that enable them to keep their balance when walking along a tree branch.
