Oh no! This owl is a reminder that, even though the fun parts of winter are over, we still have at least two more annoying months of winter ahead of us! Time to start buying fancy hats!

I was just thinkin’ the same thing–I just spent the day marathoning Firefly, and the firs thought that came to mind was, “What a cunning hat!”
An owl walks down the street wearing a hat like that, you know he’s not afraid of anything.
And here I thought I’d be the first one to comment on the remarkable Jayne-ness of the hat. Ah well, it’s still adorable.

Owls make horrible pets. They are nocturnal loners with very sharp beaks and talons. Also they smell a bit funky.
A better way to enjoy owls is on pics with hats shopped on them.
You don’t smell like a bed of roses yourself you know.

Small owls don’t really smell at all (no more than any other bird), and some of them are quite friendly.
However, they DO require a lot of special attention & special diet, and only licensed trainers can have them in the US.

I have no earthly clue why anyone would put a hat on an owl. Shopped or otherwise. As for the squee feet, did you notice those talons? No so squee, can punch through a leather glove.
Yeh owls are great looking, the forward set eyes and all. But they aren’t pets. Even rehabbers don’t treat them as such.
I’m uncomfortable with this type of anthropomorphism.
