Awww… Also, kudos on knowing that great cats can’t pur. :3
naptime is bestest time ever!
Tie-tie tiger! Boop!
all cats purr, no matter what their size.
Actually, tigers DO purr. I got to hold a baby tiger once and the little (the size of a full grown cat at around 4 weeks old) guy just rumbled like a Harley.
That’s called growling friendly-like.
(super bonus points if you know the reference)
I heard that all cats can purr, but small cats purr breathing in and out, and big cats can only purr while breathing out.
Tigers are not technically “great cats”. I can’t remember all the taxonomical information and all that but — YES, tigers purr. Though the baby tigers I’ve been around sound more like a small dog growling, as someone above noted lol
“It’s growling friendly-like.”
Fun to see our “cute baby tiger” Hadiah now in animated gif form! You can watch her video on our youtube channel: http://youtu.be/idRc_KkInds
I googled it, and it said “Bengal tigers purr. Domestic cats purr when breathing in as well as out – tigers purr only when breathing out.”
I’ve heard from experts that leopard, tigers, lions don’t pur. I think purring when breathing out is a different category than regular purring. Cats are supposed to either purr or roar. I’ve heard leopards make a noise that sounds like a friendly growl.
cheetahs purr for defo. they allso don’t have retractable claws.
