I can’t get enough of this video. I’m not even a cat person, and I’ve been forcing anybody who steps into my stratosphere to stop and watch this. It makes me want to go cuddle-hug someone ^.^

I thought the way they were cuddling was the cutest ever, then I saw the little paw twitches and thought those were the cutest ever, THEN the mom pulled the baby in and I knew that was the cutest ever… but I was proven wrong again! The baby snuggled into its mom’s chest. My heart is just so squeed out!

She’s not actually cuddling the kitten… any cat owner will see it’s mama cat yawning and stretching. Anthropomorphism of animals can be wrong. Having said that, it’s definitely a clip that made me remember my mother doing that to me, and mama cat is just as protective of her kittens as human mothers are.

Exactly right. I thought the same thing immediately when I saw it — I’ve seen my own cat do it a hundred times…. to the air! The cat is just stretching. Still, it’s cute to imagine that that’s what the momma’s doing.

Awwww! Omg, mother animals and their babies are the cutest! And while it does look like a cat stretch, I don’t think there is any reason to think she didn’t mean to cuddle her baby too. People don’t give animal mums (and dads, depending on their species) enough credit.
It does look like a stretch, but then she gathers her kitten up and pulls it closer and I’m sure she meant to do that. Who wouldn’t want to hug a kitten?

By the way, for people who “wish they were kittens all the time”, the Human Society lets people foster kittens. It makes the kittens more well-adjusted, easier to adopt, and happier around humans, which gives them a great start on life! I don’t do it myself (I have 2 adult cats), but it still seems like a great idea.
