Hello, little rat. I’m not trying to pry, but I have to wonder what you’re doing here in my dining area. Can’t you see I’m in the middle of a meal right now? It’s really quite rude of you to disturb me at such a moment!

… oh, you just wanted to see if you could have a few of these meaty morsels yourself? Well, of course! All you had to do was ask. I’m basically full, anyway. Sorry I was so quick to judge your intentions!

Editor’s Note: The Daily Mail reports that the rat was not harmed by Sheena — the leopard in this photo. She was in fact so disinterested in her newfound rodent friend that she simply walked away from her meal after giving the rat a quick, harmless sniff.

Haha this is funny! And look at those big, floofy paws!!

Stealing food from a leopard like a boss.

  3. I want sprinkles says:

That’s from last year, those pictures were on every animal-centred page… I believe even here on Daily Squee. Great pictures, but not new.

  4. Kiwi says:

WHAT a cheeky rat! He’s got spunk!

  5. ladyneeva says:

Heh that leopard has about as much hunting instinct as my fluffy tuxedo cat. Twice now, mice have gotten into the house and we’ve found them napping on him because he apparently thinks they’re kittens or something. He would pretty rapidly starve in the wild heh.

    • agere says:

Most animals will cease hunting if fed regularly. Sure, they will be playing and stuff, but they will not immediately jump on potential prey. Only real “Killers” like martens keep killing for the sake of killing if they are not hungry. That is why Martens, or their close kin, the polecats, are such good animals to hunt with.

      True Story.

    • Mindet says:

That’s amazing! Oh dear, well, at I’m sure he’s nice to look at, even if he’s not much use :P

  6. easol says:

Haha, big predators never know what to do if prey doesn’t act like prey. If they just saunter past them, they’re just confused.

“Scuse me, li’l rat, could you please stop eatin’ mah food? Please?”

  7. Stephen Parkin says:

The rat was ok, according to The Daily Mail. Hmm. Well, maybe they didn’t lie this time. I’d like to think so.

    • Mindet says:

Yeah, they do alright with little fluffy animals. It’s the rest of the world they can’t handle. I’m glad the note was provided above; I’d hate to have given them the traffic.
