Though I’ve long been a huge Joanna Newsom fan, I’d never bothered to look up one of the titular characters from her song “Clam, Crab, Cockle, Cowrie…” until now, I mean. Because this cowry/cowrie (both are acceptable) is both a lovely whatsit and just a lovely thing in general. Such vibrant colors, oh my!
