Ella says: “This is our newborn butterscotch call duck! She’s a day old today. This was taken when she was about three hours old. Her name’s Willow because she makes little ‘weep, weep!’ noises. Two of her siblings just hatched a few minutes ago!”

What a clever and creative way to name your darling duckling. My proverbial hat (because I look HORRIBLE in every hat I try and wear) goes off to you, Ella!

What? What are you looking at? There’s nothing strange about this scene!

… well, okay, so maybe it looks a little strange. But I can tell you without a doubt that I am certainly not the first gorilla to select a duckling as its designated cuddle buddy! Their downy little feathers are just so soft and comfortable… really it’s just an issue of practicality, and I think you should be applauding my pragmatism, not critiquing it!
