Reader Squees: Hamish Takes a Bath

Jan. 4, 2012

cute animals - Reader Squees: Hamish Takes a Bath

Artemis says: “Hamish looks happy there, but she pretty much hates baths.”

If only Hamish knew the way she turned baths into amazing photo ops, well then I’m more than certain she’d change her tone about them!

Reader Squees: Ashie After a Bath

Dec. 31, 2011

cute animals - Reader Squees: Ashie After a Bath

cltrecartin says: “This is my huge dumbo rattie Ashie after a bath. I just love his squishy belly and slobbery lips!”

Oh wow, Ashie doesn’t even look too bothered after his bath time! What a wonderful rattie he must be indeed!

Reader Squees: Why is This Water Stuff So Wet??

Dec. 21, 2011

cute animals - Reader Squees: Why is This Water Stuff So Wet??

Susanne says: “Our Icelandic sheepdog Kotte after his first meet with the water nozzle (he was about two months old). It was fun, but also scary, so it was nice to take refuge in a safe place!”

Better a wet blanket than a wet puppy, or at least that’s what I always say!

Acting Like Animals: WHY IS THIS SNOW SO COLD!?

Nov. 23, 2011

cute animals - Acting Like Animals: WHY IS THIS SNOW SO COLD!?

And for that matter, why is it also WET in addition to being freezing cold!? If I’d have known that winter was going to be THE WORST season, I would have learned to hibernate like our neighbors the Grizzlies! This is the last time I listen to my parents and their “it’s not so bad” mentality!

Squee Spree: On the Rain-Slicked Precipice of Squeeness

Nov. 4, 2011

cute animals - Squee Spree: On the Rain-Slicked Precipice of Squeeness

I mean, sure, it probably didn’t rain… this lil’ harp seal pup is probably just wet from the snow and the water and all those other logical things that would logically make him wet… but that kind of explanation kills my joke, and we can’t be having that on our last harp seal Squee Spree day!

Acting Like Animals: Long Blackbuck is Long

Oct. 16, 2011

cute animals - Acting Like Animals: Long Blackbuck is Long

No, seriously, what you’re seeing is NOT an optical illusion! Every single time it rains, I just stretch out to four times my normal length! It’s crazy! And what’s crazier is that it only happens to my torso! My legs and head stay the same length!

You know, I really think they should put a warning label on baby blackbucks: “Super-long when wet.” It might help… my keepers always freak out every time they see me like this…

Acting Like Animals: This Water Stuff… It’s Wet…

Aug. 4, 2011

cute baby animals - Acting Like Animals: This Water Stuff... It's Wet...

Is that… is that normal, for water? I can’t say I’ve ever experienced having my head doused in it before. When I lap it up with my tongue, it doesn’t really taste wet… it really just tastes watery and delicious. So yeah, this is kind of a new thing for me, to say the least. I’m not entirely sure how I feel about it quite yet…
